Minneapolis Gospel Sound presents Arts & Music Seminar 'Perfecting Your Gifts'

Mpls, MN (May 14, 2006 - GMS) "After
19 years of GOD giving to us, we -- Minneapolis
Gospel Sound (MGS) -- want to give back to

MGS will present its 1st Annual Arts & Music
Seminar on June 10, 2006, Saturday, 9:00 AM-4:00
PM . Scheduled is an all
day seminar, which consist of 8 sessions with
over 20 classes and teachers that have won
Grammy awards, Stellar awards,
Minnesota music awards, Black
Minnesota Music awards, travelled the World and
taught some of the most prolific singers in the world.

Mr. Adrian Davis is well known in the
Mid-South as both an accomplished musician, as well
as an outstanding music educator. He is a native
Memphian who received his Bachelor’s Degree in
Music at the University of Memphis and currently
seeking a Master’s Degree in Music at the University
of Memphis, with an emphasis in Music Education. He
has been teaching music in the Memphis City School
public system for six years, where his teaching has
allowed him to create many music programs
throughout the city of Memphis. He is currently the
Assistant Band Director at Overton High
School, where his duties include writing and
arranging for the award winning marching band and
conducting the Symphonic Band. All of his bands
have received both excellent and superior ratings
throughout his teaching career. Mr. Davis has
also written and arranged for many marching bands in
the Mid-South and Southeast region, and he also has
had many experiences in teaching marching, concert,
and world percussion in many parts of the country.
His is in high demand as a clinician and
adjudicator all over the United States.
Mr. Davis is also an accomplished percussionist,
pianist, organist, and songwriter. He has performed
with many artists and groups including the
Americanos Drum and Bugle Corps, Chops
Incorporated, Excelsior, Sounds of
Blackness, Kurt
Carr Singers, Tonex, T.S.
Monk, Jeff Huddleston, and
many others. He recorded his first album alongside
his brother, Ashley, when he was only 9 years old.
The name of the album is entitled,”He’s
Everywhere.” Mr. Davis has written and recorded
with several local, regional, and national artists,
including Annilia Wright, Kathy
Burrell, New Olivet
Choir, the Motley Brothers, Robby
Mathews and
Ministry of Praise, and Calvin Rayborn.
He is currently the Music Director for Minneapolis
Gospel Sound. He is also working on his solo
album to be released in 2007.
