Enthronement Ceremony & Celebration in Minneapolis
The Enthronement of then Bishop Keith Terrell Jenkins in his seat as Bishop will be held on Saturday, the eleventh day of November, Anno Domini, two thousand and six, at Open Door Evangelistic World Ministries, 615 East 28th Street, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55407. You and your entire family are invited to the enthronement celebration. To become a Bishop is a great honor. Our congregation is proud and excited about our Pastor’s accomplishment in being elevated to the office of Bishop.

About The Very Reverend Keith Terrell Jenkins
Pastor Keith Terrell Jenkins sensed his call to the Lord’s ministry in 1982 at 22 years of age. In 1988 Pastor Jenkins received his Ministerial License from the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Inc (PAW). A year earlier, in 1987, God directed Pastor Jenkins to plant a church in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota and along with his family, founded Open Door House of Prayer Church. Although initial services were held in a utility room in the basement of an apartment complex, God blessed Open Door to purchase and renovate a condemned office building in 1990, in the Phillips neighborhood. As the church out grew the facility, Open Door, with God's blessings, built a new place of worship on the old landmark, the first church to be built in an inner city from the ground up in a long time.

Throughout the years God’s favor has been with Pastor Jenkins and his ministry and has given him opportunities to preach the Gospel throughout the world as a missionary and to build a network of pastors and friends in Asia, Africa, Europe and throughout North America. He attended Crown Bible College, Spiritual Life Training Center, and Fourth Baptist Bible School. He has an Associate Degree in Data Processing and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Pastoral Studies from North Central University, Minneapolis, Minnesota. In addition he has received his Masters Degree in Christian Thought (Apologetics) from Bethel Seminary, Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Hospitality House Youth Directions Begins Phrase I of Building Rennovations

Elder Edgar WhiteMpls, MN (August 21, 2006 GMS) Hospitality House has kicked off a one-million dollar capital campaign to rejuvenate the youth community center and expand our facilities. Thanks to a generous contribution of $40,000 to be used as a matching grant, Hospitality House Youth Directions has began Phase I of its renovations.

Phase II of the renovation is an aggressive project that includes a complete renovation of its teen center in the facility. "Continuing to create a safe, family-friendly environment for our urban youth to call their own hangout, is exactly what we're creating," shares Executive Director Larry McKenzie. "We need the urban community to reach deep into their pockets and help us match the $40,000 grant. Our (your) kids are depending on us to invest in them. Help us make the renovation a reality." As quoted by the Founder Woody Larson, "We started out small—out the back of a station wagon—46 years ago. Today, our programs serve over 3,000 children and youth each year—inner city kids that would otherwise have no place to go and nothing to do after school, evenings, and weekends and in the summer."

In an effort to continue to be a viable, safe and positive place for future generations, to impact the lives of urban youth for years to come, Hospitality House has raised $300,000 of $500,000 needed toward its capital campaign to upgrade and expand their facilities.

One of our greatest challenges is meeting the intense need that continues to grow in the community that we have served for 46 years.

Hospitality House feels very strongly that all kids deserve a chance.

Pawlenty creates online Meth Offender Registry and announces other measures to battle meth

Saint Paul, MN (July 27, 2006 GMS) On Continuing his effort to combat the methamphetamine epidemic, Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the next phase in his crackdown on meth-related crimes, including the creation of an online Meth Offender Registry.

“Meth is one of the nastiest, most addictive and most harmful drugs ever to hit Minnesota,” Governor Pawlenty said. “We have tackled the meth scourge head-on by moving meth ingredients behind pharmacy counters, adding more agents to go after dealers, creating and funding the Gang and Drug Strike Force, and enhancing treatment programs in our prisons. Still there is more that can be done and today we’re launching the next phase of our assault against meth.”

The four tools deployed by the Governor today to battle meth are:

· Creating a Meth Offender Registry;

· Deploying Bureau of Criminal Apprehension meth agents across Minnesota;

· Combating Meth Trafficking on Minnesota’s Highways; and

· Training to Protect and Assist Children Endangered by Meth. Pawlenty indicated all four of the proposals will be carried out by executive action and do not require legislative action. Pawlenty signed an executive order today creating the Meth Offender Registry (MOD).

Methamphetamine continues to be a serious drug problem in America, with more counties reporting that meth is their number one drug problem, than counties listing cocaine, marijuana, and heroin combined, according to a National Association of Counties report issued in the last month. Methamphetamine use causes increased heart rate and blood pressure and can cause irreversible damage to blood vessels in the brain, producing strokes. Other effects of meth include respiratory problems, irregular heartbeat, and extreme anorexia. The drug has been known to cause cardiovascular collapse and death.

Creating a Meth Offender Registry

Under an executive order signed by the Governor today, convicted meth manufacturers, dealers, and traffickers will have their name, date of birth, offense, conviction date and county where the offense took place listed on an internet registry maintained by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) with assistance provided by the Office of Enterprise Technology (OET).

Photos are not likely to be included initially, but may be added as work on the registry progresses. At this time, 50 of 87 Minnesota counties regularly download photos to the BCA with arrest data. Work on constructing the registry will begin immediately with a goal of DPS having it online by December 31, 2006.

A publicly-accessible registry of serious meth offenders will provide police and citizens with a “one-stop shop” to find out if someone has been involved in selling or making meth. This information on persons convicted of manufacturing, selling or trafficking meth will allow Minnesotans to better protect themselves and their communities. The public exposure may also have a deterrent effect on prospective manufacturers or dealers of methamphetamine.

In March 2005, Tennessee became the first state to create a public Web registry for convicted methamphetamine makers. It now has more than 400 convicted offenders on the list. Illinois followed suit with a similar meth registry law signed by Governor Blagojevich last month, and a half-dozen other states have pending legislation to create meth offender registries.

Deploying Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Meth Agents Across Minnesota

Governor Pawlenty also announced that all ten new BCA agents he proposed and that were funded in the 2005 Omnibus Public Safety bill to fight meth are being deployed to duty around the state. There are three agents stationed in the metro area and one each in Mankato, Willmar, Moorhead, Bemidji, Grand Rapids, Brainerd and Alexandria.

These BCA agents are focused on investigative efforts related to mid- to upper-level meth dealers. The agents coordinate with each other to further the investigations of seizures of meth, and assist local, state and federal agencies on meth investigations such as controlled deliveries, buys and busts, undercover purchases of meth, technical support in cases involving cameras and audio and video recordings, and the investigation and dismantling of meth labs.

The agents will also provide training to law enforcement officers and prosecutors regarding the drug couriers’ use of hidden compartments in “load vehicles” and various interview techniques to detect deception by such couriers. Training will also be provided to officers posing in an undercover capacity as drug dealers to infiltrate methamphetamine drug rings. In addition, the agents will make recommendations regarding new equipment to combat the spread of meth.

These BCA agents will strengthen efforts to deal with the meth coming into the state from Mexico and other locations, often imported by illegal immigrants and gang members. These agents will coordinate with the Minnesota State Patrol which recently received training from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on meth and other drug interdiction.

Combating Meth Trafficking on Minnesota’s Highways

The federal DEA estimates that 40 percent of all drug arrests in the United States begin with a traffic stop. State authorities estimate that more than 100 pounds of meth produced and packaged by cartels arrives in Minnesota every month. In order to put an end to the trafficking of methamphetamine on Minnesota’s roads and highways, the Governor directed the Minnesota State Patrol to focus on innovative ways to detect methamphetamine trafficking.

Two Minnesota programs have achieved exceptional results. First, Minnesota State Troopers have participated in a federally funded course called “Operation Desert Snow.” Recently, the one-hundredth Minnesota State Trooper successfully completed this course. Desert Snow teaches law enforcement officers how to identify suspicious vehicles, conduct detailed roadside interviews, and detect signs that a vehicle has been altered to create hidden storage compartments.

Second, the Minnesota State Patrol has 10 specially trained drug dogs that sniff out drugs hidden in items such as car upholstery, tool boxes or luggage. Both programs have resulted in some of the biggest methamphetamine busts in Minnesota’s history – one arrest caught four individuals transporting 11.5 pounds of meth with a street value of $524,400 for 26,220 dosage units. As recently as this Tuesday, Minnesota State Troopers uncovered a half-pound of meth located in the headrest of a drug trafficker’s car. After every seizure, the State Patrol coordinates with the BCA to ensure that the drug couriers are arrested and the cartels are aggressively combated.

Training to Protect and Assist Children Endangered by Meth

Governor Pawlenty also announced a plan to enhance efforts to assist children living around meth labs or drug endangered environments who face a greater risk for physical, emotional and developmental harm. A child living in a home with a meth lab often experiences severe neglect, physical, emotional or developmental harm, and exposure to the chemicals used in manufacturing methamphetamine.

The Governor’s proposal to combat the meth epidemic includes the creation of a new program focused on helping children endangered by this drug. The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) will launch a statewide effort to help health care and public safety officials understand how to assist children put at risk by clandestine meth labs or other types of drug production, distribution, or abuse.

The Governor’s goal is to provide a statewide program coordinated through the MDH, state agencies, local governments and law enforcement agencies. Through better coordinated services, children will be removed from dangerous environments, obtain appropriate medical care and receive the resources and assistance they need to be safe. The Governor has instructed the Commissioner of Health to pursue an alliance with the national Drug Endangered Children program, which allows for additional resources and training to assist in protecting children from the impact of drugs.

Nationally, about 30-35% of meth labs seized are residences that include children, according to recent research by the National Jewish Medical and Research Center. The Center also reports that 35-55% of children removed from meth labs test positive for meth, and that 10% of children removed from homes of heavy users test positive for meth. In Minnesota, from 2004 to 2005 there were at least 76 children discovered to be in homes that had meth-related arrests and seizures by local drug task forces, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Minnesota’s drug endangered children are often found to be living in deplorable conditions. The DEC program will help protect, rescue, support and shelter high-risk children in Minnesota from these devastating effects.

“Meth causes many societal problems that we must attack,” Governor Pawlenty said. “Meth can destroy not only the lives of users, but their families, friends and neighbors too. We’ve made significant progress, but we still need to tackle meth on a variety of fronts. Today’s actions will help us halt the spread of this harmful drug and engage the public in our efforts.”

Bishop Stanley N. Frazier. God’s faithful servant endured a long-term illness with a rare blood disorder that had been diagnosed at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, in November 2005. Over the years, many community, state and national organizations sought Bishop Frazier for his participation on their committees and boards. Even so, Bishop’s steadfast commitment and dedication continued to focus on his religion, church and family.

After the Frazier family relocated to Minneapolis from Fergus Falls in 1942, Frazier’s leadership skills began at a young age while he served as a counselor at a YMCA camp. Frazier spent his youth as a boxer for the Golden Gloves organization; he was voted by The Ring magazine as the “fighter most likely to succeed.” After fighting and defeating the Canadian champion, at the age of 18, Frazier ended his very promising boxing career to become a dedicated member of Minnesota’s Emmanuel Tabernacle, Church Of God In Christ (formerly know as “Fourth Street Church of God In Christ”, established in 1930 by Elder Antoine Wilson).

In 1953, Frazier married Jeanette Ruth Roberts of Cincinnati, OH. To this union, together serving the Lord, they brought four children: G. Sankara, Cheryl, Mark and Beverly. The Frazier household expanded greatly when they opened up their home and their hearts to raising Teena as a daughter (now deceased, sister of Jeanette), Dhonek, daughter from Africa, and over thirty additional relatives and foster children. In addition to raising their children, and due to a great love for all children, Jeanette also worked in the Minneapolis Public School system for over 29 years. The Frazier household became known as the “community home” or “place of refuge” for troubled youth, gathering in a religious, positive and non-threatening environment.

Accepting the Lord Jesus Christ in his life as his personal Savior, Frazier, in 1954, started his religious journey serving in various capacities. Some of his duties included, but were not limited to; Sunday school teacher, president, Young People Willing Workers, president, Home and Foreign Missions instructor and member of the board of directors of the Charles Harrison Mason System of Bible Colleges, State COGIC treasurer, State USAC Chairman, and administrative assistant to the late Bishop S. H. Overton.

In 1972, succeeding the late Pastor, Bishop William B. Williams, Elder Frazier was appointed by Bishop Louis H. Ford, (interim Bishop presiding over Minnesota) to assume the pastorate of Emmanuel Tabernacle.

After over thirty years of proving his undisputed love for Christ, his church, and in demonstrating his leadership skills, the National Church Of God In Christ saw the need to use this faithful servant in the capacity of the Jurisdictional Bishop of the State of MN. His official ordination took place during the COGIC National Holy Convocation in November 1985, in Memphis, TN, officiated by the late, presiding Bishop J.O. Patterson.

Leading the Minnesota COGIC organization, with a membership of over 45 churches, Bishop Frazier extended his compassionate embrace to the surrounding communities, involving numerous community outreach programs designed to impact constituents of all ages in a positive and spiritual manner. One honor bestowed on Bishop Frazier was in the Fall of 2003 when he was unanimously voted by the Board of Regents (North Central University) to join the Board as a permanent member. As a result, North Central also created the Bishop Stanley N. Frazier Scholarship for deserving NCU students who are members of a COGIC church.

With a total number of 52 years as a servant of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and a prominent community leader, Bishop Stanley Neil Frazier's contributions have no doubt secured a special heavenly home for him. He has more than proven himself a good and faithful servant, one that we should all aspire to be in the sight of the Almighty God.

Bishop Frazier is preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Jean, and one brother, Thomas, and one child raised in the household, Teena (deceased sister of Jeanette). Surviving family members include: devoted wife and best friend of 52 years, Jeanette, five children – all of Minneapolis, MN, G. Sankara, Cheryl, Mark (Cherie), Beverly, Dhonek (native of Africa), seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Arthur Jr., Roger (also a Pastor in Richmond, IN), Frank, Michael, and sister, Patricia, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his Emmanuel Tabernacle COGIC devoted family.

There are no words to convey the great sadness felt in the hearts around the nation by the loss of Bishop Stanley Neil Frazier. We will mourn, yet we will also rejoice in his departure to his heavenly home.

Gospel Radio Launched Monday On The New Z-1470 KZTG

Click image to listen -- Broadcast Executive Freddie Bell, new Gemeral Manager, Z 1470 AM (formerly KLBB)Mpls, MN (July 18, 2006 GMS) Totally Gospel Radio Network is launching the Twin Cities’ newest radio experience with Totally Gospel on KZTG-AM 1470, formerly KLBB, with a preview this weekend, Saturday, July 8th from 11AM - 3PM and Sunday, 9th from 4 - 9 PM. The official launch is set for Monday July 17th when the station begins broadcasting gospel 24 hours a day.

The successful previews are completed and Monday, July 17th, The Totally Gospel Radio network premiered in the Twin Cities’ area.

Totally Gospel, to be known as Z 1470 Totally Gospel, features a mixture of the best in Urban Contemporary and Traditional “Black Gospel,” as well as local, regional and national ministries.

Z-1470 KZTG General Manager, Freddie Bell says the flawless previews were a nice look into what area listeners can expect during the 24-hour daily broadcasts. “Over time we’ll hear more of a Twin Cities influence as an increasing number of programmers and advertisers partner with us,” he said.

Bell announced on his weblog that his own program will eventually make its’ way to Totally Gospel but the air date hasn’t been worked out. Bell was Station Manager and radio personality on the former KSGS 950AM, SOLID GOLD SOUL.

Totally Gospel, of Buffalo New York, headed by The Reverend John Young Sr., launched as a 4-hour program that expanded over a 5 year period to become Western New York's first and only full time Gospel Radio Station May, 1997.

Totally Gospel expanded its reach to Adelphia Cable, Dominion SkyAngel on the Dish Network, WKIQ-AM 1390, Eustis, FL, WXRL-AM 1300, Lancaster, NY, and WWWG-AM, Rochester NY.

Three years ago, Totally Gospel acquired a five- station cluster in Southeast Arkansas and launched Webcasting Streams of various radio formats including Gospel. The expansion continues with the addition of KLBB, now known as Z-1470 KZTG Totally Gospel.

New Gospel music station
by Karen Youso, Star Tribune

Twin Citians will soon be able to tune in to gospel sounds any time, day or night.

Known as Z 1470 Totally Gospel, it will broadcast 24 hours a day from the former KLBB studio in Edina.

The station will feature contemporary and traditional black gospel music, including the Sounds of Blackness, Kirk Franklin, Dottie Peoples and Aretha Franklin, as well as local and national ministries. Its general manager is radio personality Freddie Bell.

However, it's not just an ethnic station, said program host and spokeswoman Prophetess S B Barber Stalling . It's a gospel station, about the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ, she said.

"It's not a black gospel or a white gospel, it's the gospel," she said. It's the same message, just a different style of delivery, she said.

To explain, Stalling said that the region's established Christian station, KTIS AM and FM, features a contemporary Christian format, typically understood as white Christian music, but does include some black artists.

Z 1470 Totally Gospel's programming is predominantly black. But there's lots of crossover in the industry. Called urban inspirational, it's basically a mix of traditional church and contemporary music.

YiG Showcase members living for Jesus Christ
by Maya Beecham

Mpls, MN (Nov. 2005 GMS) The scene is all too common. When you turn on the television, a rapper flaunts platinum capped teeth, diamonds and platinum wrapped around his neck and fingers, and half clothed woman gyrating at his side. Or, as you turn on the radio, sexually explicit lyrics bombard the radio waves, as the beat of a track lures young listener’s ears. Society has increasingly become fueled by anything involving sex, drugs and fast money. And youths are no different. As media moguls continue to declare, “We are giving the people what they want.”

So how can a young person live a righteous life for Jesus Christ? Members of Youth In Gospel (YiG) Showcase™, have a great responsibility on their shoulders. (More)
