Meet Worldwide Music Inc. Artist -- Roosevelt George

Worldwide Music artist Roosevelt George releases third music video "I Trust In You"

Minneapolis, MN/Houston, TX (GMS) - Worldwide Music Inc. and Gospel Truth Magazine headed by Kerry Douglas have a new artist Roosevelt George, who is rapidly becoming a radio airplay favorite with the release of his single music video "I Get Joy" featured in the Gospel Truth Magazine's Gospel '07 CD/DVD compilation and listed in the top 10. On the heels of the Gospel Truth Magazine's Gospel '07 CD/DVD compilation release, Roosevelt George has wasted no time, his third music video titled "I Trust In You" is already premiering on GRACE Media Network (GMNetwork.cc) and YouTube.com.

"I Trust In You" is the third video project co- directed by George and the 'sought out' Florida based Hondel Brothers Films. The music videos have been released as a prelude to his 2007 CD project soon to be released by Worldwide Music Inc. titled Sent To Encourage You. The CD was produced by the GRAMMY nominated and Stellar Award-winning F. Darnell Davis and written entirely by Roosevelt George.

His discography includes other songs he's written such as "Jesus Is Holy" featured on the Preaching To The Choir Movie Soundtrack (Alliant Music Group/April 2006/A Code Black Entertainment Movie). Stellar Award winning and Grammy nominated Excelsior recorded his "Things Will Work Out" (God @ Work/Verity Records 2001); Chart topper Cheryl Lynn recorded his "People Need Love" and performed it during her Japan tour. Roosevelt George wrote this song as an awareness message to the world and a love message to the families suffering & dying from the deadly Aids epidemic; Stellar Awards 2006 nominee James Grear & Nu Friends recorded "Jesus Is Holy" and re-recorded "Something's Happenin" (James Grear & Nu Friends Live/Alliant Records 2005). He wrote songs on all five projects released with Gold-selling group James Grear & Company -- the inspirational, non-gospel "Beautiful Black People" was released as a radio single to gospel and urban radio to coincide with Black History month and successfully spent 30 plus weeks at the top of Billboard Gospel, plus R&B charts and "Song of Repentance" (Don't Give Up/Born Again Records 1998); "All You Need" (lead vocals by Qwan Howell & Jack Yates), "Believe In Yourself" (lead & background vocals by Jamecia Bennett) and "Oh Please" (The Next Level/Born Again 2000); "Heaven" and "Jesus You're First In My Life" (What Will Your Life Say/Born Again Records 2002); "Angels" and "Something's Happenin" (A Special Place/Liquid 8 Records 2004).

"I Trust In You" is dubbed as an unforgetable & provacative performance. The project is a dramatization based on the true story of Tatika Williams' attempted suicide (portraying herself), but God delivered her and set her free.

Roosevelt George's vocal and songwriting edge, also adding music video co-directing/performance, is fast garnering radio play and music industry attention. His music has given 'overcoming' inspiration to both gospel and secular fans from the USA to Japan and Italy. Now, his music is reaching world wide via the Internet -- watch the premiere of "I Trust In You" on GRACE Media Network (www.GMNetwork.cc) and YouTube.com.

The Twin Cities Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA) and Augsburg College will sponsor the Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP) during the week of July 8- 12th, 2007 on the campus of Augsburg College, Minneapolis, MN. ACAP was created to provide early exposure of the career opportunities in the accounting, finance and other business related fields to high school students. This one-week residency program provides students excellent opportunities to not only learn more about their future career opportunities, but also to meet other students within the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolis and surrounding cities. The students will have a great time on the Augsburg campus as well!

ACAP will provide hands on learning experiences, enhanced with several tours of major corporations. A series of classes will introduce students to accounting, marketing, and management, as well as shared business experiences and tips for success from professional business leaders.

This year, we will sponsor a maximum of 20 students. These students will attend ACAP with all expenses paid. Students will be selected for ACAP through the application process. All applicants must be either a junior or senior, have a current GPA of 3.0 (exceptions will be considered based on merit) and meet all requirements outlined in the application. Additionally, selected students into the program will have an opportunity to compete for scholarships to be used to defray expenses directly related to tuition and fees upon acceptance and enrollment into an accredited College or University. The student must complete the semester in which the scholarship is awarded with a satisfactory grade of C or better.

Your assistance is needed in identifying a diverse group of qualified candidates from ethnic minority backgrounds. We have provided you with a brief one- page summary about ACAP and contact information should you choose to contact us.

Applications must be received and/or postmarked by May 1st, 2007 (No exceptions). Interviews will be conducted at the Augsburg Campus on May 15th, 2007. Students selected for ACAP will be notified no later than May 25th, 2007.

Two-Week Residential Journalism Camp run by ThreeSixty at the University of St. Thomas from June 17-29

As spring break draws near, please encourage one or two of your best students with an interest in journalism to apply for the two-week residential journalism camp run by ThreeSixty at the University of St. Thomas from June 17-29. (A one- week broadcast journalism day camp goes from July 2-6.)

Here are the basics:
We'll choose 20 Minnesota high school students - primarily students of color - to come to our summer journalism camp at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. From June 17-29, they'll live and work on campus, learning about journalism, working with professional journalists, visiting newsrooms and reporting and writing stories that will be published in the Star Tribune and Pioneer Press.

PLUS they'll learn the basics of one of the following: Podcasting, website design, newspaper lay-out or broadcast reporting. PLUS there's an extra week for students interested in broadcasting.

Best yet: There's no charge. In fact, we provide spending money and give an extra $300 to students from low-income families. And students who finish the program can apply for a full- tuition, four-year scholarship to study journalism at St. Thomas. Four graduates of our summer program are here now on these scholarships. Two more are at the U of M.

Prior experience with journalism isn't required. Neither is a perfect GPA. We're looking for curious, hard-working students who are eager to tell stories. PLEASE: Tap one or two kids on the shoulder and push them to write the essay, gather the writing samples and send us the applications. Write us a short letter telling why this student is special.

When they come back to you, they'll write better and ask smarter questions. They'll care more about journalism. They'll know more about the world. For some, the experience will change their lives. That's what you're about. So are we.

Applications are available at our Web site - www.threesixtyjournalism.org

3,000 Inner-City Kids Experience Joy Through Gift- Filled ‘Easter Bags’

Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN — Candy and gifts can be rare luxuries for a child living in a low-income family. But this Easter, thanks to some 200 volunteers, more than 3,000 Twin City inner-city kids are in for a treat.

The urban ministry Here’s Life Inner City is working with inner-city churches and local volunteers to help pack and deliver more than 29,000 Easter Bags nation wide and in the Twin Cities 3,000 will be delivered - each lovingly filled with candy, fruit, toys, crayons and an activity book, and a children’s version of the Easter story.

“We first began offering Easter Bags to inner-city churches in 1990,” said Ted Gandy, national director of Here’s Life Inner City. “After all these years, they continue to be one of our most effective ways to connect with children in great need - physical, spiritual, and emotional.”

A “packing party” to assemble the Easter Bags took place on March 23-24, 2007 at the Here’s Life Inner City Community Resource Center Warehouse in NE Minneapolis.

Contact John Sather, Twin City Director for Here's Life Inner City at 612-791- 1683 or go to www.hlictwincities.org. The distribution of the 3,000 Easter Bags will take place the week of April 1-8.

Since 1983, Here’s Life Inner City and more than a thousand partner churches and organizations have been responding to the growing epidemic of poverty and despair in the inner city. The wide-ranging efforts have provided the poor with food and other basic necessities, life skills, career development, and youth development programs.

Here’s Life Inner City, the urban ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, International, is dedicated to equipping churches to provide help and hope to the poverty-stricken in their communities.

YOUTH and YOUNG ADULTS CONFERENCE JUNE 14 - JUNE 16, 2007
Theme: “HOLD ON” There’s Peace In the Storm

Greetings to every leader who is reading this letter about the upcoming youth and young adults’ conference in June. My words, I pray will not fall on deaf ears. I am deeply concerned by the direction that our many of our young people are going. In some instances we are losing the battle against the enemy, in guiding our young people. Many times we simply cannot reach them. Our conventional means on some occasions have not given us the desired results. This is a time like never before that we need to embrace our young people and present them with opportunities that will undoubtedly have a life changing impact and an immediate, and enduring directional shift towards Jesus Christ our Lord.

I feel that this is an excellent opportunity for young people to come together and be able to express the ministry that God has given them individually and collectively, in the presence of other young people. This is going to be a time of celebration, a time of praise and worship, and a time of enjoyment. I have had the honor of ministering and serving with many of your young people in many different capacities. I have prayed with them, over them, and for them that they might reach their full potential in God and be beneficial to the church.

I believe that this time of refreshing is necessary in order that our young people don’t feel devalued and out of place in the church. There is, as you know, a lot of work that goes into making a conference successful. We, the staff here at Vision Ministries INC believe that this is a worthwhile endeavor. Reaching our youth and young adults must be a priority, or we will lose them forever to BET, MTV, the Internet, Video Games and traps in society.

I am asking that you see the relevance, and make every effort to see that you are well represented. Allow your young people to display their gifts, talents and abilities. Allow us to minister to them that they might open up and be healed, delivered and set free from the things that bind them. If you have a previous engagement or are unable to attend, we would gladly accept your monetary gifts. This will enable us to bless some one who does not have adequate funds but has a desire to seek God through this anointed meeting. Your urgent attention is requested in this manner.

The conference fees are included on the registration.
