Ground Zero
Beyond the Terror

Prophet C.A. Stalling
In memory of the most precious commodity ever known... Life - a gift from God. To the families, friends, and associates of those who died by the terrorist attacks on Tuesday September 11, 2001 - our heartfelt sorrow and condolences.
11/14/01

I've just returned from the area known globally  as "Ground Zero". An area filled with tourists and street vendors selling their wares. Throngs of people wanting to see, yet not seeing - hearing and not hearing. The smell of burned wiring, steel, concrete, and expired souls was/is an experience to not be forgotten in this lifetime. This is or should be seen as holy ground. The sorrow was compelling - to see the wall of memorials, mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers writing their condolences to those passed on and those left behind is beyond expressions.

This is the place where God's tears have fallen - His most precious gift snatched and taken away prematurely - LIFE stolen and threatened by the spirit of terror. In Exodus 3:17 God promised to bring His people out of the land of affliction into a land flowing with "milk and honey," but in doing so it would be among the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and the Jebusites.

What does this have to do with America? America is a land of flowing milk and honey, people from around the world have come to these shores to attain the "American Dream" to find their place in life and the world - looking for freedom and the ability to be themselves. It had its own Canaanites and Amorites but the people believed in God and He blessed the land. He blessed the land in the midst of slavery, racial prejudice, etc. God continued to bless the land because the people reverenced Him -- then it was decided that we didn't need Him and took prayer out of school, and the 'Body of Christ', (Christians, those that say they're followers of Jesus Christ) did nothing, acted as though we had no power, no influence - we gave in to tolerance. From that day, America had begun a descending spiral, where now one is hard pressed to dare place a bible on a desk or anyplace open and visible, or to share with co-workers the life giving love of Jesus in their lives.

In searching out the scriptures, we find that these names of these various people had a meaning, it was an identity; as an example - the "Hittites" ruled by terror, violence, or confusion. The name comes from the root which means to prostrate, to break down either by violence or by confusion and fear, to cause many to dismay. There is dismay, anger, fear, raging in New York and across the country, but nothing like in the city of New York. The Hittite "spirit" is trying to gain a foothold in the land, as it has in Belfast, Israel, and other nations in the world where terrorism is a part of daily life - but it doesn't have to be that way.

2 Chronicles 7:14 holds the answer "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."As a nation, America has forgotten the God of Salvation for the god of the bottom line. We have sought for God's hand rather than His face and this needs to be said, but now is not the time to point fingers and accuse the people who died of being sinful and having their sins catch up with them. We have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God.

Those who are delivering this message - stop and repent, this is not of God and is demonic to even suggest it is. This is not the time for Pastors and preachers to go about preaching judgment insensitively.  Ready or not judgment cometh but it first comes to the ministry leaders, the house of God first. As Christians have we been "...sober, and watch unto prayer" as stated in 1Peter 4:7?

Have we been honest and preached God's truth, God's love, or have we preached what the people want to hear. Judgment doesn't have to mean destruction. As in a pageant,  spelling bee or the Betty Crocker Cook off, a judgment is made. In the same way, God judges by our righteousness or our wickedness -- we determine the type of judgment rendered. Now is the time for us who call ourselves "Christian" to put aside all thoughts of accusations and blame; now is the time to pray and dedicate ourselves to living a 'Holy' life and lend a helping hand as each person's abilities and gifts allow.

We are to the world what salt is to meat. We are to give flavor to life, to preserve life. Whether it be physical, mental, or spiritual life, we are called to preserve this precious commodity, this gift. Life is so important that God allowed His son to die for our sins so that we would have "eternal life" with Him. Now is the time to live 'Holy' and pray as we've never prayed before. We must pray for our leaders from the President right down to our city mayors, and all the way to our next door neighbor. We have a say in our judgment!
