Prophet's Perspective - America Bless God

Five months after the terrible events of 9/11/2001, you can still see the common signs and hear the slogans and sayings almost screaming "God Bless America".

STOP, America, God has blessed you – when was the last time America Blessed God?

Throughout all the terrible things, and horrific times that our country has gone through – God has always blessed her. Through the bombings of churches and homes of innocent people, God has blessed America; throughout the mass displacement of people from their rightful landholdings, God has blessed America; throughout the numerous incidents and instances of racial unrest and pure hate crimes, God has Blessed America; throughout all the legal pleadings of the "separation of church and state," God has Blessed America; when America stood by and let prayer be banned from school, God still Blessed America!

When was the last time America Blessed God? When was the last time America corporately got together -- shut down our businesses for one day and Bless the God of our prosperity!? When was the last time America decided to come together and have empathy for those around us and honestly try to help someone else, in an effort to bless the God that created us prior to and other than September 11, 2001?

Right now America is running around like a child, whining and crying wanting daddy to give us a treat, wanting Him to fix our "owie".

It’s time for those in leadership, especially clergy, to stop with the pampering and sugar coating and tell God’s truth. Hear me, 911 had nothing to do with the "sins" of New York or those who were affected. It has everything to do with leadership – especially clergy, doing and being about what God has commanded of His people.

There’s too much soft shoeing and tiptoeing, the church is trying to be all things to all people. Not the church institutions or denominations, but the people that make up the body of the church. We adjust the rules and laws, the scriptures and ideals to suit our need at the time. We are falling for the second biggest lie of the enemy, be tolerant, and in the process the Nation is going to hell and no one seems to notice. Compare Romans 1:1-32 to what is going on today. Society is saying, for instance, homosexuality is all right, be tolerant – so the church begins teaching it’s okay God still loves you. That’s a half-truth, therefore a lie. Yes God does love the person involved in the homosexual lifestyle, yet He despises the homosexual act. Woe to those who molest children, woe to those who are supposedly "of the cloth" and take advantage of their position and standing and molest those in their care!

"For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry…" (1 Samuel 15:23). America is rebellious and has become an idol-worshiping nation. America is sinfully proud; we rely on our technology instead of God Almighty. We have chosen not to heed to God’s warnings and in the process have stripped away the "hedge" that protected us. 911 was America’s introduction into what the rest of the world has been experiencing for years. Anyone who travels internationally will tell you the security in our airports has always been in the airports around the world, it’s nothing new. The security is only new in America. If you look around, America is slowly going back to pre-911 in the every day things. We’re still performing abortions; favorable decisions are being made concerning cloning; the weak and oppressed are still being oppressed; legal battles concerning Bibles on desks in the workplace, displays of biblical values are still being contested; The mass prayer breakfasts have all but stopped; you don’t hear about the politicians meeting for prayer like they did on 9-12. When God sent judgment -- unless the people repented -- the judgment went through. Consider Nineveh – God sent Jonah to warn that city Nineveh (because He loved them) of the coming judgment; Nineveh heeded the warning and repented and God held back judgment, until she returned to her sins.

Today we have a similar system, some go before the judge and are found guilty and the judgment is given in the form of probation and if the conditions of the probation are not met the full judgment falls on the person charged for the original crime for violation of the probation. America is on probation – all the prayers and changing the nation did following 911 brought about a probationary sentence. Does America dare violate her probation?

If we seek God’s face rather than His hand, we will ultimately Bless Him, and instead of having to ask for Him to bless us – the blessings will be automatic for when the praises go up the Blessings come down. Consider 2 Chronicles 7:14
